Mercaz Noam – “Noam Centre” – is the year-round vibrant and thriving Noam community hub where chanichim progress to the next stage of their Noam journey!
Meltam and Masa make up our two-year leadership training course for years 11 and 12 which provides the opportunity to get equipped with all the skills needed to become a madrich/a/ol (leader). Noam has been running this programme for over 15 years, creating young, capable, inspiring leaders for generations in our community.
Join us at South Herts & Edgware Masorti (SHEMA) Synagoue on Sunday afternoons during term time for engaging, informative, and fun sessions to start your leadership journey – see times below for different programmes.
Our training programme is comprised of two courses – Meltam (year 11) and Masa (year 12).
Meltam focuses on the basics of hadracha and building an understanding Noam’s ideology and working together to take action and run projects around it. Through this process you will learn invaluable leadership and teamwork skills and a deeper understanding of what it means to be a part of Noam.
Masa prepares year 12 for leading Camp in the summer of 2025, this course focuses on the practical leadership skills needed, such as how to educate young people, how to deal with challenging behaviour and how to care for young people.
This is also complimented by the 20 hours of volunteering each participant will do throughout the year at different Noam events (Winter Camp, Kaytana, Shabbatonim) where they can put all they’ve learnt into practice. Please note that participants must attend 80% of sessions or arrange catch up sessions in order to lead on summer camp
