Do I need to be a Masorti member to take part in Noam events?

No – our events are open to all Jewish Young people who would like to participate!

Are Noam events Kosher?

All food on our events is vegetarian and prepared under our supervision.

What are Chanichim?

Chanichim is the Hebrew word for participants and so it’s the word we use to refer to all the participants who come to our camps, clubs or other programming.

What are Madrichim?

Madrichim is the Hebrew word for leaders and so refers to leaders who look after the chanichim and run programming on all our events.

Does Noam provide financial assistance?

Noam endeavours not to exclude any participants from its programmes for financial reasons, and as such offers comprehensive bursaries to participants. Application forms for any of our events will provide an opportunity to indicate (in confidence) if you would like to apply for a subsidy and we will subsequently be in contact. If you have any further questions regarding financial assistance, please get in contact with us.

What is Kaytana?

Kaytana is the name for our day Camp for participants in Reception to Years 4 – and is split into Infants and Juniors – during the October, February and May half terms as well as for 2 weeks each summer. For more information about Kaytana click here!

What is Veida?

Veida is the name of Noam’s annual conference where our participants – from year 9 and above – come together to learn about and discuss Noam’s ideology and then propose, debate and vote on motions to affect Noam’s ideology and practices. For more information about Veida click here!

What is Drachim?

Drachim is the name of Noam’s Gap Year programme. The programme is 6 months long, starting in January and involves volunteering with BINA (the Jewish movement for social change) in Tel Aviv, as well as learning at Machon (the Jewish International Leadership Institute) in Jerusalem. The programme also includes Ulpan (Hebrew Learning), Hikes, and much more. For more information about Drachim click here!
